"At Wimbles we are passionate about offering the opportunity to develop a range of skills for our students through sport. Through encouragement to explore, persist and consolidate through practice, we believe children develop their own unique style at their own pace. We understand that tennis helps develop personal skills, such as confidence, self-esteem, co-operation and social skills which sets them up for success in sport and in life"

Wimbles Junior Tennis and NeTS Tennis School.

WIMBLES is a unique program for the younger child.

It is a creative introduction to Tennis for Pre-schoolers and children of all ages and standards.

Jon and Lisa Watson are professionally qualified in Tennis Coaching and Early Childhood Development.

They have combined their knowledge to produce a program for young children to develop their balance & coordination, gross motor skills and an understanding of body & movement, in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

The Program encourages social interactions, self confidence and a sense of team spirit using a unique combination of specialised equipment and creative games.

A curriculum is prepared with a planned format for each session. However, class sizes are kept small so that there is sufficient flexibility in each session to be able to respond to the needs of an individual child while maintaining the development of the group as a whole.

Children are able to develop their abilities and health & fitness in a way that is challenging, fun and successful with each child achieving at their own pace.

All equipment is provided by Wimbles. Parents are encouraged to view sessions in progress.

Over the last 19 years Wimbles has grown to become one of the leading providers of pre-school aged tennis programs in Melbourne.

As Wimbles grew and the children grew with us, NeTS Tennis School was established. NeTS offers our children opportunity to continue their tennis journey after they have out grown our Wimbles program. NeTs offers a full coaching program for all students from 5 years of age. Junior group, private and semi private, junior squads,  junior match-play , adult group lessons and cardio tennis.

Nunawading Community Tennis Club

In 2005 Wimbles moved to it's current home at the Nunawading Community Centre. The centre has 5 floodlit, all weather plexipave courts, our club room and office. The facility is owned by the City of Whitehorse and manged by Wimbles. In addition to our full coaching program, we also able to offer memberships,  court hire and junior competition.

Meet the team.

Led by Jon our Director of Coaching we have a dedicated team of coaches and coaches assistants. We believe it is important not to just be good listeners and communicators, but to connect with our students. To teach not only skills on the court, but life skills to take off the court. We are all motivated and passionate about our sport and just like our students we never stop learning. To read more about about our coaches click here.

"Spreading the love of tennis in the community, more people playing more often"
