Our Coaching Philosophy.
Our sessions have been developed to encourage the children to explore and develop a wide range of skills which include; eye/hand coordination, gross motor skills, balance and coordination, health and fitness and an understanding of body and movement.
The program also encourages social interaction, self confidence and a sense of team spirit whilst in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Children are able to develop their abilities in a way that is challenging, fun and successful with each child achieving at their own pace. Classes are kept small to help facilitate this.
Our classes are designed to offer our students a systematic and sequential program, offering all players the opportunity to cultivate their game to reach their full potential. Through out each stage you will be able to see the pathway need to to make future improvement a development.
As each student progress, opportunities to enhance their performance through squad training. internal match play and club competition is available to all.
Wimbles Junior Tennis
Wimbles is our launch pad program for our youngest students. Lesson are available for children from three years old. Classes are currently available at Nunawading on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school. At Boroondara Tennis Centre Tuesday morning. NeTS Tennis School
NeTS Tennis School is caters for all ages and abilities from 5 years old to the young at heart! We have a wide variety of lesson and programs to suit all needs.
Tennis Australia's ANZ Hot Shots
We are very proud to be official providers of ANZ Tennis Australia's Hot Shots program. All children enrolled in our program, can sign up for free and receive all the benefits.
Junior Group Lessons
These group lessons are designed for students of all ages and abilities, using the principles of Tennis Australia's Hot Shots fromat. A lesson to suit your child will be available in every session. Classes are available Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after school and Saturday morning. For more details please call the office.
Junior Development Squad
This session is every Tuesday at 5pm to 6pm. It's for the player looking for a little bit extra, on top of their regular class. The session covers all areas from technique, fitness, mental toughness and tactical awareness. With the main goal of match play and competition preparation. Please note due to timetable pressure this session has been replaced with a junior group lesson for Term 1 2017.
Junior Match Play
Our Junior match play is held every Friday at 4.30pm. This supervised session is 90 minutes of match play practice. Singles and doubles, round robins, mini tournaments, lightning premierships and team challenges will all be played. On the last day of each term we will fire up the barbie or order some pizza and reflect on the the terms efforts with awards and certificates. These session are just $10 pay as you go, no need to book.
Although our junior competition isn't part of our coaching program, we believe it is a very important part of the child's development. It will put to the test all areas covered in their lessons as well as team spirit, determination, perseverance and some times even conflict resolution! We have Saturday and Sunday morning competition available in the Eastern Region Tennis competition. We have a variety of formats available starting with a modified junior development competition through to all ages. We currently have 11 junior teams competing every weekend. School Holiday Program
Every school holiday we run a program. Our next dates are:
January School Holiday.
8th, 9th and & 10th January 2018.
Each day 10.00am to 12pm, at Nunawading.
The cost is $40 per day or all 3 days is $100.00.
Day 1 - bring a friend for free! Daily Player of the day! Fun and accelerated learning!
All equipment provided, suitable for age 5+. Now taking bookings.
Private lessons are available Monday to Saturday by appointment. These sessions offer a more personalised program, designed around each students own goals and needs. Lesson times are flexible but are usually 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Private lessons are usually one on one, but can also be shared, upto 4 people can share a semi-private lesson, the cost is also shared. Lessons can be booked individually or in a group. Discount are offered when a group of lessons are paid in advance.
Special Olympics Adult Group Session
Our Special Olympic sessions are held every Tuesday at 6.30pm. All atheltes are welcome. Come and join us to learn new skills in a fun, relaxed and friendly enviroment. Call the office for more details.
Adult Group Lessons
Adult group lessons cater for all standards of students. In a friendly, relaxed environment you can work on all aspects of your game, from basic technique to match play. If you can't commit every week, you can pay as you go. So no excuses! Lessons are 60 minute duration. Classes are currently available 7.30pm Tuesday and Friday 11.00am.Call the office for more details.
Cardio Tennis is a total body workout that features an on-court warm up, an intensive cardio workout and a cool down. Fun group activities, featuring drills and games, give the players the ultimate workout. High energy music and heart rate monitors are used to get the most out of each 60 minute session. Cardio + Combat
Want to lose weight, burn fat, get fit, but still have fun? Join Jon Watson, Director of Coaching from Wimbles Tennis and our Master trainer Chad Naidu who team up and run combined cardio tennis + combat fitness class. This class is available Wednesday evenings.
Combat Fitness Class
Join Master Trainer, Chad Naidu, for unique and addictive full-body workout that features elements of Mixed Martial Art - for the first time in Australia!
The Program encourages social interactions, self confidence and a sense of team spirit using a unique combination of specialised equipment and creative games. A curriculum is prepared with a planned format for each session. However, class sizes are kept small so that there is sufficient flexibility in each session to be able to respond to the needs of an individual while maintaining the development of the group as a whole.
